Description
Ailanthus altissima is an invasive tree species native to North and Central China, and Taiwan. It will grow wild in the US and out-compete most native species, especially in urban habitats. While the wood is usually a tan or cream color, the silvering inherent in these pieces occurs rarely. There are only a few branches left of the collection, and earrings like these will soon be unavailable unless more is found. The wood is also quarter-sawn, revealing a fish-scale pattern. Number 00.
